A La Mode is an authentic jazz band built upon Kansas City’s rich heritage of swing and blues. Led by classically trained guitarist Clayton DeLong and enchanting songstress Jesica Poell, and bass player, Rick Willoughby, A La Mode takes the authentic smoth, bluesy and improvisational Kanas City jazz style and blends it with Latin-Brazilian, French and gypsy jazz. You’ll think you’ve been transported back in time.

DJ Joc Max will be spinning vinyl in P.S., playing a set for music lovers that you can't hear anywhere else, including funk classics, deep soul, house, breakbeats, chill hop, neo jazz and neo hop. Joc Max also collaborated with former music writer Shawn Edwards to curate a specialized playlist for P.S. The playlist will be played before and after Joc Max's performance.

Alex Abramovitz and his Swing’n Kansas City Jazz Band are laser focused on the swing style of Kansas City’s jazz heritage, and celebrate the traditional swing band sound. Even Abramovitz’s horn exudes tradition, it’s a 1940’s war-era, all-nickle cornet. They take inspiration from the era and the phenomenal musicians who developed it.

Leslie Maclean adds a special dimension to her piano-based jazz trio with unique arrangements that create a trio-sized big band sound. The trio plays unique, exciting and passionate renditions of jazz classics as well as Leslie’s original compositions and has been featured at top jazz clubs and festivals around the Midwest and Kansas City.

The group takes a modern twist on the classic jazz band with lead singer Megan Birdsall, one of the most well renowned and sought after vocalists in the area. Birdsall has headlined many local jazz festivals, and had an extensive career as a feature at venues all around Kansas City.
