Your experience starts with our breathtaking Art Deco lobby that made us Kansas City's most celebrated hotel in 1931.

Completed Renovations

We always strive to provide our guests with the highest quality experience in an atmosphere that is both gracious and welcoming. As part of this commitment, we have just completed the redecorating and renovation of all our guestrooms and public space in a manner that preserved the elegant design elements while adding high quality comforts for our guests.

Trey Bryna, Resident Illustrator

Kansas City's Only Resident Illustrator

The Arts are a major influence on the livelihood of any city but downtown Kansas City has an especially vibrant arts community. Being located at the epicenter of local creativity, we embrace and support those people and organizations who are building our city's reputation as one of the most brilliant stars on the Arts horizon.

With that in mind, Trey Bryan is our first Resident llustrator. Hotel Philips is the only hotel in Kansas City that can claim to have an artist who is creating images that capture the spirit of our guests, historic Art Deco architecture, events and day to day activities. His ability to capture the essence of what he sees make him the perfect artist to hold this honor. You'll find him in 12 Baltimore, at our events, sitting in the Lobby and Mezzanine; quietly capturing the moment. Who knows? You may be his next subject!

Jazz At The Hotel Phillips

Kansas City and Jazz; they go hand in hand.

Kansas City is known as one of the most popular "cradles of Jazz" in the world. In the 1930's while Charles Phillips was building a landmark hotel at the corner of 12th and Baltimore, a style of music that would become known as Kansas City Jazz was coming into its own just a few blocks away at 18th and Vine. Count Basie, Myra Taylor and local Charlie Parker were among the forerunners of what would put the city on the map for decades to come. Their traditions have been carried on by the likes of Millie Edwards, Karrin Alyson, Stan Kessler, Angela Hagenbach, Joe Cartwright and countless others

Now we celebrate that rich tradition with Jazz At The Hotel Phillips, an intimate series of music with the cities best artists on Thursday, Friday and Saturday nights. Come relax and enjoy the music that made Kansas City's music scene what it is today.

Join us every Thursday from 5:30 - 8:30 PM, and Friday and Saturday from 8:00 - 11:00 PM. There is no cover charge. Beverages are available for purchase.
